The following classes are available in person (in compliance with local Covid Business regulations) and online for active patients of Dr. David Sundy.

If you are not local then you can request an online assessment so that the Doctor can help you determine if you simply need ergonomic education of if you require referral to an appropriate specialist.

Dr. David Sundy is trained as a professional injury prevention and ergonomic specialist from F.I.T. and taught classes and preformed ergonomic workstation analysis at Fortune 500 companies such as Whole Foods Market, Wells Fargo, Royal Bank of Canada and various school districts throughout the San Francisco Bay Area.

There will be an optional quiz to complete if you would like a certificate of completion which may be necessary for HAS/FSA reimbursement.

Ergonomic Concepts for the Home Office and Travel

Working from home or while traveling can be freeing and also dangerous. Most of us don’t have access to proper ergonomic set ups. In this class you will learn the importance of proper ergonomics, i.e., the mechanism of injury of poor posture and at risk behaviors, the implications of these injuries, i.e, the cost and difficulty of healing from the injuries so that you will be armed with the information necessary to take these teachings to heart. This class will be easy to understand and provide quick solutions to difficult ergonomic situations. Common causes to eye strain, neck, back and shoulder pain and fatigue, wrist pain will be discusses with an emphasis on prevention and early detection.


Proper Lifting Procedures

So simple, yet so misunderstood. F.I.T. provides better, more specific and more concise information and instruction as to proper lifting technique than anywhere else. Its fun to learn, super informative and the class is a mover and a shaker. Just the information you need to make the right choices for how to stretch before, during and after work and how to do a variety of lifts, pushes and pulls often required at work. Then, practice what you learned. You will need one of more other persons to learn and to practice in order to evaluate and correct each other. Once you learn this invaluable information, it will be with you for life. Years later I see folks on the street and those whom I’ve taught at whole foods and they chant back to me the easy to recall rhyming phrases that govern how to move the body safely while lifting. Even lifting a pen from the floor in the incorrect way day after day can lead to significant, expensive and painful physical injury, while lifting correctly can actually be rehabilitative, strengthening and energizing. Learn with me as I teach you to stay safe while lifting and to preserve the function and health of your spine which cannot be replaced.
